Cantronic's niche is ultra long range active infrared systems and products. Most products on the market today have a range of about 50 meters (164 feet). Cantronic offers products with viewing ranges 200 meters (660 feet) to 3,600 meters, or more than two miles. Our line of security products include:

Cameras

• Ultra Long-Range ThermalRanger 2000 series - Thermal-seeking, passive infrared cameras providing surveillance detection in total darkness up to 1,600 meters (5,200 feet) for humans, 2,400 meters (7,900 feet) for automobiles and 3,600 meters (11,800 feet) for ships;

• 3-in-1 - Rugged and compact, the 3-in-1 has the power to see distances up to 100 meters (330 feet). It combines a color camera for daylight, a B/W infrared camera for lowlight, and an active infrared illuminator for image capture in total darkness with no infrared glare;

• IR 860 Portable Infrared Imaging Camera stores up to 64 images and has a battery life of up to two hours. Its high thermal sensitivity and compact 4-inch x 7-inch size makes it conducive for applications such as predictive and preventative maintenance, medical imaging, R&D, and firefighting; and

• Fever Scan is specially designed for mass screening of public areas for individuals with elevated body temperatures. As a group of people walk past the camera a thermal image is displayed. Body temperatures above a predefined value, such as a fever - a key indicator of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome), in airports, railway or subway stations, sea ports and other public facilities.

Illuminators
 

• Long-range Active Infrared Systems captures clear images up to 800 meters (2,600 feet) in daylight or total darkness. The system includes a waterproof camera and infrared illuminators. In addition to perimeter security and frontier defense, airport surveillance, unique applications for the long-range active infrared systems include traffic monitoring, video conferencing, and facilitating visual operations underwater such as marine research or ocean fishing; and

• CSI-IR Infrared Illuminators offering illumination distance ranges of 12 meters (40 feet) to 200 meters (660 feet). Weighing less than half a pound, the lifespan of the illuminators is more than 10,000 hours.

To ensure best-of-class knowledge and practical application proficiency, Cantronic's sister company, the Academy of Infrared Training (AIRT), provides onsite or remote infrared training instruction. The independent education institute has long been supported by Cantronic's key management and engineering personnel. James Zahn, Cantronic's President and CEO serves as the Academy's Managing Director. The Academy provides education for all brands of IR instruments and an extensive range of IR applications.
