Beginnings
CEO James Zahn founded Cantronic
Systems Inc.’s predecessor in 1992. Capitalizing on his background in
condition monitoring and predictive maintenance, Zahn and a small team
of engineers began the development and manufacture of the ML4000 series
of Real-Time Synchronous Machine Condition Monitoring Systems for
preventive maintenance applications.
In 1993 the company introduced an electro-optics
division to develop, manufacture, and distribute infrared cameras to
support its condition monitor equipment. And finally, in 1997 the
company was incorporated and reborn as what is now Cantronic Systems
Inc.
Today, its focus is active and passive infrared imaging and night
infrared systems with an emphasis on long-range viewing products. It has
grown to become one of the largest infrared retailers and original
equipment manufacturers in North America offering custom engineering and
system integration.
Its Key Markets include:
- Security - perimeter, government, environmental, commercial and residential
- Medical - temperature/fever screening for SARS and other diseases
- Condition Monitoring - monitoring the condition of equipment to
